Alain Cohen currently serves as president of the Communications division at Ultra Intelligence & Communications (Ultra I&C). The division provides high-capacity data and communication equipment that informs decision making in the most challenging tactical environments across
land, sea, air, and space domains. In this role, he is responsible for the strategy and execution of Ultra I&C’s line-of-sight and beyond line-of-sight offerings, including satellite and tropospheric communication products.
Cohen joined the organization in September 2020 and oversaw the division’s rapid growth to more than 200 employees worldwide, including the main manufacturing and engineering facility in Montreal, a satellite division in the United Kingdom, and business development teams in the United States and abroad. He also spearheads the entire process of crafting strategies, securing contracts, designing, constructing, and distributing communication-focused systems to government and commercial organizations globally.
Before his tenure at Ultra I&C, Cohen held the role of associate partner at McKinsey & Company from 2015 to 2020, where he led and provided support to clientele on executive-level strategy, finance, operations, restructuring, and transformation spanning various sectors. Additionally, he served as financing director at Export Development Canada between 2010 and 2014.
Cohen, with a seasoned background in the Canadian Armed Forces, continues his service in the Primary Reserve of the Canadian Army. He has authored the book "Galula: Praeger" and contributes as an editor to the "Studies in Conflict and Terrorism" journal. His educational credentials include a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Concordia and an MBA jfrom MIT.
