Dr. Annarita Giani is a Senior Scientist at GE Vernova Advanced Research, where she leads the quantum application group, focusing on quantum technologies and their industrial applications. She collaborates with GE businesses and government entities to explore quantum solutions for real-world challenges. At GE Vernova, her work encompasses projects related to cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, energy systems, supply chain management, modeling and simulation for situational awareness, and machine learning and optimization for large, dynamic, complex problems.
Dr. Giani holds a master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Pisa and a Ph.D. in computer engineering from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College. She spent four years at Los Alamos National Laboratory, focusing on the cybersecurity of the energy grid, a research area she began during her post-doctoral work at the University of California, Berkeley.
She is enthusiastic about innovation and thrives on the challenge of creating new technologies and implementing them when they promise significant societal benefits.
