Barbara Cooper-Jones is the Senior Vice President, Enterprise Data and Technology Solutions at Ginnie Mae. In her role as Chief Information Officer, Ms. Cooper-Jones is responsible for defining and implementing cloud, IT, cybersecurity, and information management strategies that support the enterprise’s mortgage-backed securities (MBS) operations. Ms. Cooper Jones is also responsible for enabling IT project governance and related risk management, and ensuring infrastructure, cloud and technology directives and solutions align with Ginnie Mae’s cybersecurity and compliance mandates.
Prior to joining Ginnie Mae, Ms. Cooper-Jones was the Assistant Vice President of Enterprise Program Management in National IT at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond where she led large scale program management infrastructure modernization efforts. Ms. Cooper-Jones served as Vice President of Enterprise Data Technology at Fannie Mae from 2004 to 2007.
Ms. Cooper-Jones is a recipient of the 2019 and 2022 IDG CIO 100 Award for IT Innovation and Business Value, the Washington Business Journal’s 2020 Women Who Mean Business, and will be recognized as one of the 2023 FCW Federal 100 honorees in April 2023. Ms. Cooper-Jones is on the Board of Directors for a non-profit and spends time mentoring future leaders.
