Brendan McElrone is Vice President of AI at HII. As part of the CTO office strategy, he is responsible for leveraging AI as a horizontal across the enterprise. He assists with the management of the enterprise research and development portfolio and manages a team of data scientists and machine learning experts performing work across the broad AI application space. Prior to his current role, McElrone served as VP of AI at Alion Science and Technology providing technical and strategic leadership to the company’s applied AI portfolio. He led a talented team of data scientists and machine learning experts supporting cross-functional research and development efforts. In this role, his team successfully deployed an enterprise
scale NLP project for the DoD. McElrone has experience in both large and small business environments spending time at Lockheed Martin, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, and various self-started entrepreneurial endeavors. He has a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University and an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).
