Colonel Juliet H. Calvin has been serving in the United States Marine Corps since October 1992. Her first 12 years were as an Enlisted Marine serving as a Generator Mechanic and Utilities Chief. She commissioned in 2002 through the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program. She earned her Bachelors of Arts in English from Florida State University, and most recently she earned Masters of Science in Government Leadership from College of Information and Cyberspace, National Defense University.
She has extensive combat experience serving the Middle East throughout the Global War on Terrorism. She also has extensive experience in the Indo-Pacific Region, both as a Planner for I Marine Expeditionary Force G-6, engaged in the National Strategic Objective of Womens, Peace and Security initiatives, and serving as a communications planner in various support requirements. She has served as a Strategic Planner and Operations Officer for the I Marine Expeditionary Force G-6, and has planned, executed, and developed numerous cyber initiatives throughout the Indo-Pacific designed for Coalition and Theater Security Cooperation activities.
In addition to her combat experience and role in cyber initiatives around the globe, she commanded the first Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Battalion from 2020 - 2022. Her command was the starting point of the Marine Corps transition to change the traditional communications formations as part of Force Modernization. In 2022, Col Calvin attended Top level School at National Defense University (College of Information and Cyberspace). She graduated from Top Level School at the College of Information and Cyberspace with a Masters[ of Science Degree in Cyberspace Leadership in Government.
In June 2023, Col Calvin was assigned to the Joint Staff, J6 in 2023, and served in the CJADC2 Division, in support of crafting, coordinating and developing CJADC2 Campaign Plans in support of Joint Staff, Joint Force, and Combatant Command alignment across the near-term time epochs of 2025- 2035. She was hand selected to serve as the Chief of Staff for a Task Force assigned to sustain use cases and continued development of AI capabilities for the Joint Staff. She was subsuquently appointed as the Chief of Staff for the continuing development of the Data, Analytics, and AI equities, which are currently being aligned under a unified command and control structure. Col Calvin was recently selected and slated for O6 Command and will assume Command of Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group in the summer of 2025.
