Col Kenneth Carmichael

Colonel Kenneth R. Carmichael is currently serving as the Director of the Command, Control, Communications and Computers (C4) Systems Directorate (J6) and the Chief Information Officer for United States Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) at Fort Meade, Md. He is responsible for the delivery of C4 systems, cybersecurity, and information technology (IT) services while sustaining mission-ready capabilities to enable USCYBERCOM and its components to execute cyber operations. The J6 provides Command architectures, cultivates Mission Partner interoperability, deploys web services solutions, develops risk management strategies, and establishes IT standards to secure, operate, maintain, and defend Joint systems.
Colonel Carmichael commissioned into the Air Force in June 2001. His assignments include bases in Maryland, Nevada and Virginia. He also served overseas in Hawaii, Abu Dhabi, and Germany, and deployed in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM.
Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Senior Executive for the Chief Information Officer of the Department of the Air Force.
