Colonel R. Greg Brown is Director of Intelligence (J2), USSPACECOM Joint Task Force – Space Defense, Peterson-Schriever Garrison, CO.
Colonel Brown commissioned in 1992 as a distinguished graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the University of Oklahoma. A master intelligence officer and U.S. Air Force Weapons School graduate and instructor, he has held numerous operational, command and staff positions. Colonel Brown was director of operations of the 609th Air Intelligence Squadron, commander of the 547th Intelligence Squadron, deputy commander of the 432d Operations Group, and commander of the 49th Mission Support Group. His Air Staff tours included duties as a program element monitor and functional expert for Combat/Mobility/Space Air Intelligence Systems; as action group strategist for the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR); and as chief of the ISR Strategy and Plans Division, Headquarters U.S. Air Force,
Washington, D.C. Colonel Brown has directed and performed contingency intelligence operations at the squadron, group, wing, Air Force Forces, and Air Operations Center levels during Operations Southern Watch, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, New Dawn, and Odyssey Dawn. He came to JTF-SD from 16th Air Force, where he served as Director of Advanced Programs.
Colonel Brown was born in Alva, Oklahoma, met his wife of 29 years, Laura, at the University of Oklahoma. Their 19- year old twin sons Payton and Blake are enrolled in Texas A&M and the University of Texas, respectively.
