Dawna Morningstar is the Director of Next Gen Solutions Division within Lockheed Martin, Space – Mission Solutions. In this role, Dawna leads the next-generation of communications projects with a focus on 5G.MILTM from Space and in support of the Lockheed Martin-wide 5G.MILTM initiatives where Space enables ubiquitous connectivity for 21st century warfighting.

Prior to this role, Dawna was the director establishing the vision for Space’s mission software driving capabilities from the ground to space and also served as the strategic project lead driving focus on rapid mission enablement through DevSecOps adoption, AI/ML-based solutions, and small satellite systems. She has over 20 years of experience spanning the software development lifecycle, IT infrastructure, business development, and program management across the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and Commercial customers.

Dawna is a graduate of Lockheed Martin’s Program Management Development Program and certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Program Management Professional (PMP). She has been recognized by BEYA as a Modern Day Technology Leader and has been awarded a prestigious Excellence Award by each of the three, Lockheed Martin businesses she’s worked within for her efforts in new business development, IT efficiencies, and a customer-focused culture.

Originally from Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania, Dawna holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Slippery Rock University and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Villanova University. Dawna is located at the Lockheed Martin campus in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and her team is geographically dispersed across several locations, including Colorado, Maryland, and Virginia.
