Dhruv Bansal short bio: Dhruv Bansal is a physicist, programmer and serial entrepreneur. He studied mathematics & physics at Columbia College (2005) and went on to pursue a PhD in statistical physics at UT Austin. His research on complex networks led him to develop a love for programming against large, real-world datasets. In 2008, he co-founded Infochimps, a cloud-based data science and engineering company, which was later acquired by CSC (2013). His experiences working with distributed systems at Infochimps prepared him for bitcoin, which he first heard about in 2011 but foolishly refused to buy until 2013. In 2016, he co-founded Unchained Capital, a bitcoin financial services firm which has since grown to become a market leader in multi-signature bitcoin custody, with thousands of clients participating in a worldwide network of collaborative custody protecting billions of dollars in assets. Dhruv believes that bitcoin will disrupt many human networks beyond money and financial services, including the computer networks which comprise the Internet.
