Transportation Security Administration (TSA)

Dina Thompson joined TSA as the Deputy Assistant Administrator (DAA) for Contracting and Procurement Office in December 2018.
As the DAA, Ms. Thompson serves as a senior acquisition management official and the Deputy Head of the Contracting Activity in TSA. The DAA provides executive leadership and senior technical expertise for TSA, on matters involving procurements and other transaction agreements. Ms. Thompson’s responsibilities have agency-wide impact and influence, which include providing innovative and expert leadership in the establishment and implementation of comprehensive procurement strategies and implementation schedules in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, and directives.
Prior to joining TSA, Ms. Thompson spent almost 30 years supporting the Warfighter as a Contracting Officer and Procurement Analyst in the United States Army. Ms. Thompson’s significant experience includes information technology contracting and contracting for services; Federal Acquisition Regulation, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement, and Army Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement promulgation; and acquisition strategy development.
Ms. Thompson’s most recent assignments include: Acting Head of the Contracting Activity in TSA, Senior Research Analyst and Team Leader supporting the Advisory Panel on Streamlining and Codifying Acquisition Regulations established by Section 809 of the 2016 National Defense Authorization Act, Senior Advisor to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Army (Procurement) (DASA(P)), Director of Procurement Programs in the Office of the DASA(P), Army Defense Acquisition Regulations Council Member, Office of the DASA(P), Senior Procurement Analyst, Army Contracting Command Headquarters, Senior Contracting Officer, Information Technology, E-Commerce and Commercial Contracting Center, Senior Contracting Officer, U.S. Army Community and Family Support Center.
Ms. Thompson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Averett University and a Master of Science Degree in Contract Management from the Naval Postgraduate School. Ms. Thompson belongs to the Defense Acquisition Corps and the Army Acquisition Corps and is an active member of the National Contract Management Association. Ms. Thompson a Certified Professional Contracts Manager, an American Council for Technology – Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) Fellow, and is both Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) and Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III certified in Contracting.
