Dr. Donald A. Reago, Jr. was selected for the Senior Executive Service in May 2014 and is the
Director of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence,
Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center, Research and Technology Integration (RTI)
Directorate, under the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM). In
this capacity he is responsible for planning and executing the Army’s science and technology
(S&T) investments in C5ISR technologies to include Electro-Optic Components and Image
Processing Technologies, Aviation and Electronic Warfare Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance,
Reconnaissance and Countermine (CM)/Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices(C-IED) Sensors
and Signal Processing. He is responsible for the technical direction of a S&T program with a
$300M annual budget, a staff of approximately 800, and a technical scope comprising in-house
research, contract research and development, and support to various Program Executive Offices
(PEOs) and Program Managers (PMs) across the Army and Joint Service acquisition communities.
He is an internationally recognized authority in Night Vision, Countermine and Sensor
technologies, and has served on numerous Joint, National, and International coordinating activities.
He is currently the Chairman of the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) Sensors and Processing
Community of Interest, and the Army representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization
(NATO) Sensors and Electronics Technology (SET) panel. He is a fellow and member of the
Executive Committee for the Military Sensing Symposium (MSS). He remains active in applied
research in EO/IR technology, and is a co-author of Analysis and Evaluation of Sampled Imaging
Systems.
