Ms. Donna S. Bennett is the Enterprise Chief Information Security Officer for the U.S. Department of State. In this role, she provides expert policy, technical, program, and department-wide oversight support to the Department of State on all cybersecurity matters. She also directs and reports agency-wide compliance with current and emergent Federal cybersecurity mandates to Department leadership, OMB, and Congress. As a security industry veteran, Ms. Bennett has over 25 combined years of public service with numerous federal agencies, including distinguished active-duty service in the United States Navy. She is the former Deputy Chief Information Security Officer at the U.S. Department of Commerce and Chief Information Security Officer at the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Within those respective roles, she led cybersecurity initiatives focused on managing high-valued cybersecurity assets, cyber operations, skillfully leading numerous organizations, and high-visibility cybersecurity initiatives to include
stemmed National Security Systems. Ms. Bennett holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo University and Master of Science Degree in Information Assurance from Norwich University. She is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executive Fellows and holds various Technical and Cyber Security certifications.
