Dr. Dan Hudson

Dan Hudson is the Senior Director of Applied Technologies for the Fleet Sustainment business group in the Mission Technologies division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII). He has more than 25 years of professional experience and is a multi-disciplinary expert in applying human factors and reliability engineering, data science and advanced analytics, artificial intelligence and intelligent automation, and digital transformation to create enterprise value across multiple domains, including healthcare and public health, cybersecurity and intelligence, reliability and safety of engineered systems, and enterprise risk management.
Before joining HII in 2022, Hudson served in a spectrum of data science and technology leadership roles in the private sector supporting the missions of the Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Intelligence Community. He also served for 10 years as a Reliability Engineer and Risk Analyst for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and is a Veteran of the U.S. Navy (Navy Diver and Submarine Warfare Officer) and U.S. Marine Corps (Electronics Technician).
Hudson earned a Bachelor of Science with Distinction degree in Aerospace and Space Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, a Master of Science degree in Reliability Engineering and Predictive Analytics from the University of Maryland, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Data Science and Decision Intelligence from the Johns Hopkins University. He is a Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Certified Cloud Practitioner (CCP), and is Certified in Public Health (CPH). Hudson’s volunteer activities include serving as the Vice-President/President-Elect of the INFORMS Analytics Society, as a Director for the INFORMS Analytics Certification Board (ACB), and as a Committee Member for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) Standing Committee on Aerospace Medicine and Medicine of Extreme Environments (CAMMEE).
