Liz K. Newton is the chief operating officer of BWXT Advanced Technologies LLC, a subsidiary of BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT). Prior to her current position, Ms. Newton supported Advanced Technologies LLC’s capture and implementation of the Pele program with her expertise in systems engineering and program management. Her career has been dedicated to high-impact technology innovation, working in a variety of roles such as vice-president for operations and vice-president for research at for-profit and nonprofit companies; NASA manager for strategic planning and integration, aerospace policy analysis, and strategic communications; NASA senior scientist; and co-founder of a VC-backed software company. Ms. Newton has degrees in physics and government, international relations, and public policy from Cornell University, the University of California - Berkeley, the Institute de Hautes Etudes Internationales (Geneva, Switzerland), and the University of Alabama - Huntsville.
