Dr. Steven Meier

Dr. Meier is a senior technology executive and member of the federal Senior Executive Service (SES). He has over 30 years of federal and private industry experience in the leading R&D technology organizations in the defense, intelligence, and civil communities. Dr. Meier has led strategy and operations for business unit technology portfolios valued at $350M+ and over 1200 personnel. Most of his career has focused on delivering first-of-a-kind, transformational technologies and systems for software and hardware ground, air, and space applications from concept to operations utilizing rapid prototyping and other lean practices. Dr. Meier has extensive experience building strategic relationships by collaborating with U.S. Congresspersons, staffers, government and industry leaders, the international community, academia, and national labs to identify market and technology trends, foster invention and innovation, and create partnerships. He is a recognized thought leader and keynote speaker with 60+ presentations, panels, and publications covering leading R&D organizations, strategy, technology management, program management, systems engineering, and several technology areas.
Dr. Meier earned his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in Electrical Engineering (Optical Physics concentration), an M.S. in Physics from the University of Southern California, and an M.S.EE with a concentration in Applied Physics from the University of California at San Diego. B.S. in Physics from George Mason University. He also obtained graduate certificates in Executive Leadership and Business Administration from Georgetown University.
