Jason Bryant
Senior Supervisory Computer Scientist Over Autonomous Command and Control and Mission Planning
Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)
Jason Bryant is a Senior Supervisory Computer Scientist at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in Rome, NY, where he has navigated development of a portfolio of groundbreaking research for tactical, joint, multi- domain technologies involving cutting edge machine learning, generative ai, semantic computing, ontologies, and resilient information dissemination to advance state of the art in mission analysis, mission awareness, mission assurance, joint-domain ontologies, and bridging ai/ml to the warfighter. He has been program manager and overseen AFRL portfolios developing mission information management technologies transitioned to solve logistics, force protection, mission planning, autonomy, and other critical AF challenges, accelerating roadmap and strategic plans for both Connectivity and Dissemination (CAD) and Command and Control (C2)
Core Technical Competencies (CTCs). Jason has authored multiple technical publications and conference presentations on topics ranging from semantic information management to cloud information dissemination, including “Joint Doctrine Ontology: A Benchmark for Military Information Systems Interoperability” and many others towards advanced information management, and supporting engagements with academia and influencing the development of innovative solutions within AFRL.
Jason entered the workforce contributing as a developer for several small business, developing projects related to semantic information management and streaming data applications for military use, before onboarding as a government researcher and leading programs in ontology development, peer to peer streaming, real-time mission analysis for mission assurance, and many others. In parallel he taught evening courses on Software Engineering,
Agile Software Processes, Requirements, Design, Architecture analysis and design, UML and ERD modeling, project management, and CMMI at SUNY Polytechnic institute. Ultimately, he accepted as a position as a senior supervisory scientist, overseeing cloud computing, networking, and cloud-based information management research initiatives, administrating research roadmaps and strategic plans for investment strategy involving mission and cloud information management R&D, and supervising a team of 25 military and civilian researchers, guiding research efforts across joint planning, mission adaptive information management, generative AI, ML Battle Management, and other research initiatives.
