Colonel Jason E. Joose was assigned as the Chief of Staff, APNT CFT in September 2018.

Colonel Joose’s service includes more than 24 years of active- component duty. He received his Regular Army as a Distinguished Military Graduate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 1994. Following graduation from the Infantry Officer Basic Course, he served with the 3-325 Airborne Battalion Combat Team in Vicenza Italy in a variety of positions to include Rifle Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer and S-3 Air.

Following attendance at the Infantry Officers Advanced Course, he served as in the 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division as the Brigade Adjutant and commander of D Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Cavalry Regiment (Mech) and Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. Following company command, Colonel Joose’s assignments included: advisor / trainer in the 3rd Battalion, 306th Infantry Regiment out of Fort Stewart, Georgia, a deployment as part of the Multinational Forces and Observers (MFO) in the Sinai, Egypt, and attendance at Command and General Staff College, He subsequently served served as the battalion executive officer for 2nd Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment in Baumholder, Germany and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and later as the 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division (reflagged to 170th Infantry Brigade) Executive Officer. He served with Joint Forces Command and Joint Staff, J7 as an operational plans observer / trainer on the deployable training team. He commanded 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Later assignments include: Deputy Commander, 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division, Chief of Staff, 1st Armored division at Fort Hood, TX and the G-3/5/7 at First Army.

Colonel Joose’s professional training and education include a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from RPI. He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College, and Joint Professional Military Education II.

Colonel Joose’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Expert Infantry Badge, Ranger Tab, and Army Senior Parachutist Badge.
