Jon Rucker is a senior vice president and manager of SAIC’s U.S. Army Business Unit within the Defense and Civilian Sector. Rucker is currently responsible for approximately $1.2 billion of engineering and IT services supporting a wide range of customers across the company’s Army portfolio.
In leading the Army Business Unit, Rucker sets the strategic direction, and oversees execution of all programs for supporting Army R&D centers, commands, PEOs and other customer organizations. He leads 3,000+ employees worldwide supporting SAIC’s engineering, platform integration, training, enterprise IT, and management services.
Prior to joining SAIC, Rucker spent 6 years at CACI as the Senior Vice President of the Command, Control, Communications and Intel (C3I) Group. Prior to joining CACI, he spent 20 years in various technical, program management, and executive leadership capacities at Lockheed Martin.
Rucker has a broad experience base including significant experience in capturing new business, portfolio management, program management, and engineering development in the U.S. and internationally.
In addition to extenstive experience with C4ISR development, he has expertise in DoD ACAT I programs, successfully leading a complex portfolio with revenues in excess of $650M per year.
Rucker graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins, and holds an MBA from Penn State. He is also is a graduate of the Leadership Montgomery Core Program, has held multiple leadership positions on not- for profit boards, and has served as a volunteer leader for multiple elementary thru high school youth programs.
Rucker lives in Gaithersburg, MD with his wife and his three sons.
