Ms. Karen Cook is a Senior Procurement Analyst in the office of Defense Procurement and Acquisition Policy, Services Acquisition. Since July 2014 she has supported the Deputy Director, Services Acquisition, who is responsible for developing, implementing, governing, and executing the acquisition oversight framework for services in the Department of Defense (DoD). Ms. Cook’s support is focused on the policies and implementation of a services portfolio management structure and of services requirements review boards.
Ms. Cook has a wide range of expertise gained from a U.S. Air Force career followed by government support work, for a total of 30 years in project and management positions. Her experience includes acquisition policy development, requirements management, organizational planning, IT management, software program management, budget planning and execution, high-profile written and verbal communications, and grievance resolution.
In 1986 Ms. Cook earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and, in 1994, a Master of Science degree in Information Resource Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
