Ms. Kristen Knapper is the Civilian Sector Director for the Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM). FEDSIM is an organization with the General Services Administration, Federal Acquisition Service, under the Assisted Acquisition Services. FEDSIM is a government leader in acquisition, project management, and system integration services. Ms. Knapper heads up a Sector led by 5 Group Managers with teams of certified project managers and contract specialists providing life cycle acquisition support services to various Federal Civilian Departments and Agencies.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Knapper served as a Civilian Group and Air Force Group Manager in FEDSIM where she oversaw several portfolios including the United States Department of Homeland Security, US Air Force Joint Strike Fighter PMO, US Air Force Modeling and Simulation Agency, Office of Management and Budget, General Services Administration and Financial Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) among several others. She also served as a Project Manager. As a Project Manager, Ms. Knapper was responsible for contractual and financial administration for various task orders supporting such Government Clients as the Federal Aviation Administration, Defense NOTAMS office, Executive Office of the President, OMB and FDIC.

Ms. Knapper began her Federal career in 1989 as a Department of the Army Supply Intern assigned to the US Army Information Systems Management Activity (ISMA) at Ft. Monmouth, NJ. She has since served in several Logistics Management and Project Management positions within the Department of the Army and General Services Administration, notably 7 years with Pentagon Renovation, PM IM&T as the team lead for the Pentagon Consolidated Technical Control Facility and the Network Systems Management Center.
She has a BS in Business Logistics from The Pennsylvania State University, as well as, a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University. Ms. Knapper is a graduate of The Defense Systems Management College Advanced Program Management Course and holds a PMP certification from PMI. She is also a 2012 ACT/IAC Fellow.
