Lindsey Sheppard
Deputy Director, Advanced Command and Control Accelerator

Lindsey Sheppard is the Deputy Director of the Advanced Command and Control Accelerator (AC2A) within the Office of the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAO) at the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). Her office is responsible for leading DoD governance on Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control (C2) and providing the applications, data services, and experimentation opportunities to deliver C2 capabilities across the Joint Force, allies, and partners.
Ms. Sheppard previously served as a special assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense, leading the digital modernization and innovation portfolio to include, the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, Office of the Chief Information Officer, CDAO, Director Operational Test and Evaluation, and the Strategic Capabilities Office. In this role, Ms. Sheppard was responsible for providing strategic guidance and ensuring delivery on strategic priorities and initiatives such as CJADC2, digital modernization, advancing the digital workforce, the creation and standup of the CDAO, 2022 CHIPS Act enactment and implementation, and the stand up of the Office of Strategic Capital.
Prior to government, Ms. Sheppard was fellow with the International Security Program at CSIS and an adjunct faculty member at the George Washington University, where she focused on the nexus of emerging technologies and international security.
Ms. Sheppard began her career in defense research and development. She was a member of the technical staffs at the Charles Stark Draper Laboratory and the Georgia Tech Research Institute. During this time, she was the programmatic and technical systems engineering lead on various software development projects. She holds an MS and a BS in aerospace engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
