Mike “Boe” Boera is the Air Force Strategic Account Executive for Leidos joining the company in June 2018. He is responsible for strengthening and growing Leidos’ trusted relationships with the United States Air Force (USAF) and Space Force (USSF). With more than $14 billion in annual revenue and 43,000 employees worldwide, Leidos, with headquarters in Reston, Virginia, is a recognized global leader in solving important problems in defense, civil, intelligence, homeland security, and health.

Boe came to the company with over 20 years of expertise in planning and operations in the military and with business development experience in the defense industry. He retired from the Air Force as a major general in June 2014 as the director of Air Force Programs, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Plans and Programs for the USAF. He was responsible for the development and integration of the Air Force program across the Future Years Defense Plan and for managing the Air Force corporate process. Following his close to 33 years of service in the Air Force, he served as a director for business development at Raytheon for a mission area within the company’s Intelligence, Information and Services business.

He is a 1981 engineering graduate of the University of Colorado and earned master’s degrees from Central Michigan University and the Air War College. He is also a graduate of several executive education courses from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs of Syracuse University, John F. Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University, the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies in Hawaii, and Air University respectively. He has also published numerous defense-related articles.

General Boera has extensive operational experience in Europe and the Pacific. He logged more than 5,600 hours in over 20 aircraft and has flown 200 combat sorties. He led a fighter squadron, two groups, two air wings, and an air operations center. He was the deputy director of Operations for then U.S. Pacific Command, as well as the director of Requirements for Air Combat Command. His wide breadth of international experience includes tours of duty in Germany, Southwest Asia, Turkey, Italy, Japan, Guam, Australia, and Afghanistan. He currently sits on the Board of Advisors for Patriot Mission, Inc., is a member of the Association of Old Crows and the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara (U.S. Air Defense Artillery). He is also a senior member of the Civil Air Patrol, and a Life Member of the Air Force Association, Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association, Daedalians, and the Distinguished Flying Cross Society.
