Mr. Ryan, retired U.S. Air Force, (USAF) SMSgt, is the Director of Security for Vectrus. Mr. Ryan leads Vectrus’ global security operations and is responsible for all strategic security planning, client relationships, security and risk management.
Prior to joining Vectrus Mr. Ryan managed Salient CRGT, Inc’s. Global Security operations as well as their ITAR & Export Control program. He currently serves as the chairperson for the Industrial Security Working Group (ISWG) and a MOU member to the National Industrial Security Program Policy Advisory Committee (NISPPAC).
Mr. Ryan brings over three and a half decades of experience in national and international security operations and management. Prior to Salient CRGT he served as Security Director for Shared Services at SRA International, Inc., where he led, managed and mentored security professionals and security support employees; responsible for providing comprehensive security services to executive management, SRA employees, and external customers.
Prior to SRA, Mr. Ryan was a Senior Security Manager, at Harris Corporation where he led security operations for two wholly owned subsidiaries and six geographically dispersed field offices.
Prior to joining Harris Corporation, Mr. Ryan, served General Dynamics, as a Senior Security/Project Manager for Critical Infrastructure Protection, responsible for organizational, managerial, technical, and financial performance of a security risk management program for one of the country’s largest critical infrastructures. His expertise allowed for the establishment of new security requirements, including defining strategies and developing security plans and protocols along with a risk methodology and approach based on new government standards and frameworks.
Mr. Ryan’s military career culminated as the Superintendent of Security – Aerospace Data Facility, where he directed all daily aspects of security for a one million square foot sensitive compartmented information facility, 3000 person, active data relay communications facility for the Department of Defense. Mr. Ryan managed global, enterprise level projects with responsibility for budgets, resource planning, staffing, development, and follow-through. He led more than 160 government and contract security personnel responsible for the protection of multi-national and quad-service classified data relay communications center comprised of 20 buildings and 30 acres of grounds.
Mr. Ryan is a Board Certified in Security Management, Professional (CPP), a graduate of the ASIS Security Executive Course, Wharton Executive Education, University of Pennsylvania, and holds a Master’s degree in Security Management from Webster University.
