Maria Demaree is the Vice President & General Manager for the Lockheed Martin Space Mission Solutions line of business, where she is responsible for approximately 4,400 employees and an annual sales base of over $1B in support of government defense and intelligence agencies. Mission Solutions develops, delivers, and operates solutions for commercial, military and intelligence users. These mission critical efforts include development of innovative enterprise, cloud and application-based solutions for mission management, command and control, collection orchestration and tasking, processing, data analysis and analytics along with premier operations and sustainment of space-based programs.
Maria served previously as Vice President of Engineering for Mission Systems and Operations at Lockheed Martin Space. She was responsible for the matrix management and leadership of 5,000 engineers, cyber technologists, mission operators and software engineers. Her team engaged in a range of programs from satellite ground systems and flight software to detailed mission analytics and operations. Prior, Maria served as the Director of Mission Systems at Lockheed Martin’s Information Systems & Global Solutions (IS&GS) business area where she led the Engineering and Technology Mission Systems Capabilities organization of 3,500 software engineers.
Maria was previously the Director of Enterprise Desktop Services at Lockheed Martin Enterprise Business Services (EBS). She was responsible for the Lockheed Martin Service Desk, Unified Communications (E-mail, Mobility Services and Webcasting); Desktop Services and SharePoint implementation. Her team included 700+ matrixed employees with an annual budget of $90M. Prior, Maria was the Director of the Engineering and Applications Skill Center at EBS, responsible for 2,000 engineers and application developers in the IT workforce.
Maria has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
Maria is a March of Dimes Heroines in Technology Lifetime Achievement award recipient, and was named to the 2018 FedScoop Top Women in Tech. Maria is the Executive Co-Chair of the Space Diversity and Inclusion Council and also serves on the Zeta Board of Directors. Active in her community, Maria led the Junior League of NoVA JamPacks project, delivering over 2,500 backpacks to underprivileged children in Fairfax and Loudoun counties. She is actively involved in multiple STEM initiatives in local schools.
