Private First Class Moreno graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California in March 1999. Private First Class Moreno reported for Marine Combat Training immediately following, graduating in July of 1999. PFC Moreno subsequently reported to the Air Defense Training Section, Charlie Company, Marine Corps Communication Electronics School (MCCES) in Twentynine Palms, California. Corporal Moreno reported to Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 18 in Okinawa, Japan in October of 2000 where he served as an operator in the Tactical Air Command (TAC) Center for the 1st Marine Air Wing. After the attacks of 9/11 Corporal Moreno was attached to Marine Air Control Squadron 4 (MACS-4) for deployment to the 13th Air Force Air Operations Center in Guam for Operation Noble Eagle in defense of the Marianas Islands. In April 2002 Corporal Moreno reported for
duty to MACS-4 and subsequently deployed with the Tactical Air Operations Center to Kandahar, Afghanistan in support of the Global War on Terrorism. In June of 2005 Corporal Moreno was promoted to Sergeant and received orders to the Tactical Air Defense Controllers Course at MCCES in Twentynine Palms, California. Upon completion of the course, as a Marine Air Defense Controller, Sergeant Moreno returned to MACS-4 where he was notified of selection for the Enlisted Commissioning Program. Sergeant Moreno reported to Officer Candidate School, Quantico, Virginia in October of 2003 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps in December of 2003. After completion of The Basic School and the Basic Communications Officer Course in 2004, Second Lieutenant Moreno reported to Second Battalion, Seventh Marines, Twentynine Palms, California in
January of 2005 where he served as the Battalion S-6 Officer and Communications Platoon Commander. In April of 2005 Second Lieutenant Moreno deployed with Second Battalion, Seventh Marines to Fallujah, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Again, in December of 2006, First Lieutenant Moreno Deployed to Fallujah, Iraq with Second Battalion, Seventh Marines. In October of 2007, First Lieutenant Moreno reported to Tactical Training Exercise Control Group, Twentynine Palms, California to serve as the Communications Support Platoon Commander as well as a command and control evaluator for infantry battalions completing Exercise Mojave Viper; their final pre-deployment training prior to deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan. In July of 2010, Captain Moreno was selected for the Special Education Program and reported to the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey where he
completed a Masters Degree in Information Technology Management after which he reported to Training and Education Command (TECOM), Quantico, VA where he served as the AC/S G-6 to the Commanding General of Training Command. Major Moreno subsequently was assigned as a Project Officer for the Virtual Command Environment for TECOM which provided operational support and knowledge management to all six General Officer commands within TECOM. In December of 2015, Major Moreno received a subsequent assignment to Marine Corps Systems Command where he assumed the duties as a Project Officer for the Department of the Navy Enterprise Software License Team under the direction of the Navy Program
Executive Officer, Enterprise Information Systems. In July of 2018, Major Moreno was assigned to 3d Marine Aircraft Wing where he served as the Deputy AC/S G-6 and ultimately retired from the Marine Corps after 21 years of service. Mr. Moreno was hired to be the Deputy AC/S G-6 for the Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command and Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in March of 2020 and has been serving in this capacity since.
