Matthew Easley

Brig. Gen. Matthew Easley is the Director of the Army Artificial Intelligence Task Force (AI TF).
In this position he leverages and integrates current and future operational AI efforts, as well as AI research and development efforts Army-wide, aligns Army AI efforts with sister services and with the Joint AI Center (JAIC), ensures incorporation of industry and academic cutting edge advancements in support of Army modernization, and institutes agile delivery of AI capabilities across all domains. Matt is lowering the barrier to enter for AI into the Army by developing an AI ecosystem and works with the signal and cyber communities to develop big data collection and analytics platforms that span from enterprise systems to the Army’s tactical platforms.
Matt is originally from Littleton, Colorado. He was commissioned from the U.S. Military Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Physics. He also has a master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University, Computer Science from the University of Colorado, and Strategic Studies from the Army War College, and a doctorate degree in Computer Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Matt has served in command and operational assignments in Kuwait, Nevada, California, Colorado and Germany.
