Nicholas Lanham supports the Office of the DoD Chief Digital and AI Officer (CDAO), Business Analytics Directorate as the Deputy Program Manager (DPM) for the Advana program. Lanham also leads the product management efforts aligned to the Deputy Secretary of Defense (DSD) Executive Analytic application suite and data acquisition efforts supported by the Advana program’s Data as a Service (DaaS) team. This effort requires a close partnership with the DoD CDO, as well as each Service CDO, while working to iterate through one of the Department’s largest data ingestion efforts. Prior to joining the CDAO team, Lanham supported the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) (OUSD(C)), Deputy Comptroller for Enterprise Data & Business Performance (EDBP) Directorate. Prior to supporting OUSD(C), Lanham supported OSD CAPE as a weapon system cost analyst, focusing on a variety of data collection and analytical automation initiatives, and also served as the Director of Cost Research for the Naval Center for Cost Analysis (NCCA). Lanham graduated in 2017 from the prestigious, year- long Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP) and has a Master’s in Business Administration from University of Maryland University College (UMUC). Other certifications and awards of note include Level III Financial Management (FM) certification from the DoD Financial Management Certification Program, the Secretary of Defense Meritorious Civilian Service Award, and the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Level III certification in the business-cost estimating track. Lanham has published several papers relative to DoD software cost estimation improvements and was co-author to the 2015 International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEAA) Best Paper within the software estimating track.
