Ryan is the Senior Vice President & Director of CosmiQ Works, an In-Q-Tel (IQT) Lab dedicated to helping U.S. national security agencies, commercial organizations, academia, and nonprofits leverage recent advances in machine learning technologies particularly computer vision against remote sensing data sets. Since co-founding CosmiQ in 2015, he has been responsible for developing its technical research strategy, building collaborative partnerships, and leading specific projects. Ryan helped found SpaceNet, a nonprofit LLC organization designed to accelerate research in the development of machine learning algorithms for remote sensing applications. It is run in collaboration Maxar Technologies, Intel AI, and Amazon Web Services. Prior to CosmiQ Works, Ryan served for two years on IQT’s investment team leading customer accounts where he focused on advanced analytics and geospatial technologies. Before joining IQT, he was an Account General Manager for Computer Science Corporation and was responsible for P&L within the U.S. Public Sector market. Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree from Truman State University and a master’s degree from the University of Maryland, where he was named a Memorial Fellow.
