Director, Washington Operation of Space & Naval Warfare Systems Command and Director, Navy Cybersecurity Division for DCNO N2/N6

Dr. Lang serves as the Director of the Navy Cybersecurity Division (N2/N6F4) for the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Dominance (DCNO N2/N6). As N2/N6F4, she manages analytic, technical, and a sessment efforts driving continued cybersecurity improvement across the Navy. She also serves as the Director, Washington Operations, for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) providing executive presence in the National Capital Region for programmatic issues, strategic planning, and Cyber requirement development and implementation.

Dr. Lang entered the Senior Executive Service in December, 2016. Prior to her appointment, she served in various leadership positions for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific. Dr. Lang stood up the Requirements Branch for OPNAV N2N6F42. She also served as the Task Unit Lead for Cybersecurity/Assessment & Authorization and as the Chief Information Security Officer for the Naval Enterprise Networks Program Office.

In addition to her government experience, Dr. Lang has leadership experience in the private sector. At Dell Inc., she filled positions including the Dell Corporate Security Strategist and Technical Director, Business Assurance and Strategic Initiatives. As the Director of Federal Security, she developed a full-service program supporting over 600 cleared employees producing over $3B in annual revenue. Dr. Lang also conceptualized the Dell Supply Chain Integrity process and worked with U.S. Cyber Consequences Unit developing the Supply Chain Integrity and Security Guide. This work resulted in her briefing supply chain integrity on behalf of the U.S. Department of State at a sponsored forum in Gaborone, Botswana in 2012.

Dr. Lang ran her own consulting business providing Special Security instruction and services to Intelligence Community agencies and their supporting contractor organizations. In this capacity, she served as the Lead Technical Instructor for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence Special Security Center. This work was complemented by her support of multinational contractor
organizations in the areas of Operations Security and International Trade in Arms requirements.

Dr. Lang’s education includes a Master of Science, Management Information Systems, and a doctorate degree in Information Systems and Information Assurance Policy. She also has a 4th Degree in French from L’Institute de Touraine. Dr. Lang’s numerous certifications include a Certification Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certification Information Systems Manager (CISM), Certification Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certification Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Systems Analyst Certificate.
