COL Troy Crosby was born on 12 June 1970 in Berlin, Germany. He graduated from James Madison University in 1993 and was commissioned in the Armor Branch as a Regular Army Officer. Upon completion of the Armor Officer Basic Course, his first assignment was as an Armor Platoon Leader with A Company, 3rd BN, 73rd AR Regiment, 82nd ABN DIV at Fort Bragg, NC. He then transitioned to Quartermaster Branch and served as an Accountable Officer and Battalion S-3 (Air) in the 530th Supply and Service Battalion, 1st Corps Support Command. Following the Combined Logistics Officer Advance Course, he was assigned to the 3rd Corps Support Command in Wiesbaden, Germany. LTC Crosby served as a Support Operations Officer, Logistics Operations Officer, and commanded the 19th Service Company. After Company Command, he was the Logistics Officer for the 3rd BDE, 91st DIV (TS) at Travis AFB, CA. Upon completion of his tour with 3/91st DIV (TS), he transitioned to the Army Acquisition Corps. COL Crosby’s first acquisition assignment was at United States Army Special Operations Command as a Systems Acquisition Manager. He worked on the development and fielding of Special Operations Forces Tactical Communications and C4ISR systems for Army Special Operations Forces from 2004 to 2006. From 2006 to 2009, he was the Joint Assistant Product Manager (AF/SOF) for Joint, Interagency, and Multinational Interoperability under the Future Combat Systems Program. Troy served as a Department of the Army System Coordinator for Program Executive Office Integration from 2009 to 2011. He was the Product Manager, Network Systems from 2011 to 2014 in PEO Command, Control and Communications – Tactical. COL Crosby served as the Executive Officer for the Military Deputy to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology from 2014 to 2015. He most recently attended senior service college at the Eisenhower School, National Defense University. COL Crosby deployed to Haiti for Operation Uphold Democracy, Bosnia-Herzegovina for Operation Joint Forge, Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom during his career. His education includes a Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University, a Master of Business Administration from Webster University and a Master of Science in Information Systems Technology from George Washington University. He is a graduate of the Army’s Armor Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course and Command, General Staff College, and Senior Service College. COL Crosby is Level III certified in Program Management and Information Technology. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Army Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal with Bronze Star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/two Campaign Stars, Iraq Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal with Bronze Star, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, Army Staff Identification Badge, Rigger Badge and Royal Australian Parachutist Badge. COL Crosby is married to the former Rachel Gustafson of Colonial Heights, VA and they have three sons.
