Will Johnson has more than 30 years of progressively responsible experience directing as many as 2,100 employees in business units with revenues in excess of $700 million. The Logistics and Mission Support Operation within Leidos Defense Group concentrates on providing technical solutions to warfighters in the federal logistics sector. Prior to becoming a Leidos Operations Manager, Will was President and co-founder of Thom-John Strategies, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business providing Information Technology services to the Department of Veteran Affairs. He has successfully led companies through start-ups, turnarounds and growth modes.
Prior to founding Thom-John Strategies, Will served as the President of Systems Made Simple, a Leidos Company. He led a team of 500 employees and over 800 subcontractors providing a range of Information Technology services to the Department of Veteran Affairs. Mr. Johnson is a 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force; retiring as a Communications Officer. Prior to joining the Health sector, Will served as Managing Director of Energy and Environmental Services within Lockheed Martin’s Information Systems and Global Solutions organization. This organization provided information technology and environmental services to the government and regulated industry clients including the Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Department of Interior and Department of Labor.
Before he began leading the Energy team, he was a Senior Program Manager for Department of Homeland Security. Mr. Johnson was responsible for the daily activities of over 300 personnel with services ranging from IT Service Desk through Systems Architect. Will has specific expertise providing IT services to executive leadership teams: skills that were honed while in the USAF working with the White House Communications Agency responsible for providing IT services to the President of the United States, White House staffers and United States Secret Service.
Will is a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Computer Science. He is a graduate of Webster University where he earned a master’s degree in Business Administration. During his Lockheed Martin career, he has completed the IS&GS Executive Roundtable Mentoring Program and the IS&GS Program Management Development Program. In 2012, he received the IS&GS Excellence in Managing Programs award.
Mr. Johnson is married to wife Tracey and has two children, William III and Brittany.
