SpiderOak Appoints New Chief Revenue Officer

SpiderOak has named Kip Gering, a 4×24 member, as its new chief revenue officer.

Gering joined SpiderOak from zero trust access management software provider Xage Security, where he served as a senior sales and business development executive responsible for supporting customers, including the Department of Defense, to secure, manage and transform digital operations in their operational technology, information technology and cloud environments, SpiderOak said.

In his new role, he will oversee the sales, business development and marketing departments; implement the corporate plan; identify new market opportunities; and facilitate strategic sales and partnerships to drive revenue performance. He will directly report to SpiderOak CEO Dave Pearah.

According to Gering, he will continue existing efforts to increase the adoption of SpiderOak’s cybersecurity solutions in the defense and commercial sectors.

He brings to SpiderOak nearly three decades of cybersecurity, defense and industrial internet of things experience.

Before joining Xage Security, he held marketing and product management leadership roles at NES and Itron.

Gering also served in the U.S. Air Force as a commissioned officer responsible for deploying and operating advanced space systems and providing the Air Force Space Command with new cyber capabilities.
