StateRAMP Grants Authorization to SMX Cloud Assured Managed Services Platform
SMX’s Cloud Assured Managed Services platform has attained authorization from the State Risk and Authorization Management Program, a nonprofit advocating cybersecurity best practices to improve the cyber posture of state and local administrations. StateRAMP provides state and local governments with uniform cloud security verification, mitigating cyber risks. According to John Sankovich, SMX’s president of cloud solutions, the authorization will improve the company’s ability to deliver outcome-assured services to customers focused on state and local security, SMX said.
The Maryland-based company said CAMS works to reduce costs for users by offering solutions to routine activities while utilizing best practices for operations, governance and security. Sankovich, a Potomac Officers Club member, said that SMX’s objective is to aid its clients in meeting government compliance standards by providing digital transformation capabilities in tandem with major cloud service providers.
SMX expanded CAMS into AWS GovCloud in May, strengthening the platform’s security layers. In June, the company announced that it had retained its strategic partnership status with Microsoft Azure, another major cloud provider. SMX passed an independent audit of its customer engagement lifecycle, including strategic frameworks, migration methodologies and adherence to key cloud adoption principles.
In 2020, SMX attained Federal Risk Authorization Management Program certification, allowing government contractors to reach authority to operate accreditation more quickly.
