Steffanie Easter, Rob Smith Join CAES’ Senior Leadership Team
CAES, a maker of electronics for aerospace and defense, has appointed two new members to its senior leadership team.
Steffanie Easter will serve as senior vice president and chief sustainability officer. She will be responsible for driving sustainability and promoting environmental, social and governance standards, CAES said Tuesday.
Easter most recently worked at Science Applications International Corporation, where she served as deputy VP for the Army business unit as well as VP of strategy and planning.
Prior to joining SAIC, Easter served as the acting assistant secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics and technology. She launched her engineering career at the Naval Air Systems Command.
Mike Kahn, president and CEO of CAES and a two-time Wash100 winner, said that Easter has experience across the defense industry and has the expertise to build out CAES’ ESG program.
CAES also hired Rob Smith to serve as SVP and general manager of its integrated defense systems division, succeeding Paul Shew. In his new role, Smith will lead a team that specializes in advanced electronic warfare and radar systems.
Smith most recently served as president of government operations at BWX Technologies, a supplier of nuclear components and fuel to the government. He is credited with driving digital transformation, program excellence, acquisitions and customer engagements.
Before he joined BWXT, Smith held senior leadership positions at Lockheed Martin. Kahn said that Smith’s background is well-aligned with CAES’ technologies, programs and business plans.
Easter and Smith are both members of the Potomac Officers Club.
