Federal Acquisition Service Posts Record $100B Revenue in FY 2023, Official Says
The General Services Administration’s Federal Acquisition Service posted a record $100 billion revenue for fiscal year 2023, up $10 billion from FY 2022, FAS Deputy Commissioner Tom Howder said during an ACT-IAC webinar in November.
According to Howder, creating customer value initiated by outgoing FAS Commissioner Sonny Hashmi, a Wash100 winner and a speaker at a Potomac Officers Club past event, was among the efforts that contributed to the record FAS revenue, Federal News Network reported Wednesday.
Howder, who will serve as acting FAS commissioner when Hashmi leaves on Dec. 29, also cited the latter’s initiative to streamline doing business with FAS and developing an innovative and equitable marketplace.
The efforts, which were outlined in Hashmi’s “North Goals,” enabled FAS to fast-track 46 percent of the dollar value that GSA awarded to eligible small businesses, Howder added. As a result, the Small Business Administration has given the agency an A or A+ rating in small business utilization, he noted.
Among the FAS accomplishments that Howder cited for FY 2023 was $6 billion in savings from its programs.
