Coast Guard, HII Subsidiary Work to Certify Integrated Data Environment Platform

HII subsidiary Enlighten and the U.S. Coast Guard have collaborated to achieve “authority to operate” status on the service’s Surveyor integrated data environment platform.

Enlighten helped the Coast Guard fortify the integrated data environment’s security, ensuring it could protect sensitive data needed by the service’s operations. It also allowed the service to have better access to critical information vital to improving the decision-making process.

Introduced in 2022, the Surveyor is a cloud-based data architecture that helps the service consolidate data source silos and enable the use of data as an enterprise strategic asset to help with mission operations, HII said.

Cody Hunt, director of product management at Enlighten, said the company is proud to have helped the military branch ensure the success of the Surveyor platform. He added that the achievement is a reflection of the firm’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

HII has been the Coast Guard’s long-time collaborator. In October 2023, its Ingalls Shipbuilding division turned over the Calhoun national security cutter, a vessel capable of providing a wide range of support to the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and NATO.
