Industry veteran Timothy McBride has been appointed as the president of ST Engineering North America. His appointment is effective Nov. 1.

McBride, a member of the Potomac Officers Club, joins ST Engineering North America after serving as the senior vice president of global government relations at Raytheon Technologies. As global government relations SVP, he oversaw the development and execution of advocacy strategies and global business interests. He held a similar role at United Technologies.

At UTC, he supported defense appropriations for the F-35 program and other defense programs involving the company, which merged with Raytheon in 2020, ST Engineering said Monday.

According to his LinkedIn profile, McBride started his career in 1985 as a personal aide to the vice president of the United States. He also held other roles at the White House and was the assistant secretary for trade development at the Department of Commerce before moving to the private industry.

Following his stint in the government sector, McBride served as the director of corporate communications at gas company Sunoco. He also handled various leadership roles at DaimlerChrysler AG and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp.

The incoming ST Engineering president holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Eastern Michigan University.
