Tom Bell: Leidos to Adjust Focus to Meet Customer Demand

The CEO of Leidos said the company will improve its organizational structure and strategy to meet future demands.

In an interview with C4ISRNET, 4×24 member Tom Bell said the company will need to adjust its focus to ensure that it can meet its clients’ mission requirements. He explained that while the company is generally doing well, it can do better in areas like acquisition and digital modernization to ensure that technologies being delivered to customers would deliver best-in-class capabilities.

Bell also stated that Leidos will continue focusing on cyber, software engineering, artificial intelligence, hypersonics research and manufacturing, electronic warfare and other lines of work that the company is known for. He added that Leidos will also look to invest in new capabilities that will set it apart from its competitors, C4ISRNET reported.

Tom Bell took charge as CEO of Leidos in May, succeeding Roger Krone, who had led Leidos since 2014.

Before joining Leidos, Bell had been part of The Boeing Company, where he most recently served as senior vice president of global sales & marketing for defense, space & security.
