Tony Frazier Elected to Iridium’s Board of Directors
Iridium Communications has added Tony Frazier, an executive at Maxar Technologies, to its board of directors.
Frazier, who is also an event speaker for the Potomac Officers Club and a 2021 Wash100 winner, will provide strategic guidance to Iridium’s business enterprise.
His familiarity with space industry players, services and trends is expected to help with business expansion efforts, Iridium said.
Frazier currently works for Maxar Technologies as the executive vice president of global field operations. According to his LinkedIn profile, he is responsible for the space tech company’s global sales, business development, services delivery and account management organization.
He worked for DigitalGlobe prior to its sale to Maxar in 2017. During his nearly five-year stint with DigitalGlobe, Frazier took on senior vice president and general manager roles.
He was responsible for leading product strategy, business development and operations for DigitalGlobe’s services business unit. He also spearheaded the company’s insight business unit, where he helped customers analyze imagery and many other forms of geospatial information.
Frazier spent some time with GeoEye as well. As SVP of marketing, he led all marketing, product management and strategic alliance activity for the satellite imagery company.
He also sits on the boards of directors of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, a non-profit organization focused on inspiring youth to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
In a statement, Iridium CEO Matt Desch, a POC member and 2021 Wash100 winner, touted Frazier’s experience, knowledge and business acumen. He believes that Frazier’s skill set will help further Iridium’s mission.
