Trump Signs FY2020 Budget Bills

President Donald Trump has signed fiscal year 2020 budgets provided for in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act and the FY20 National Defense Authorization Act. In a statement, Trump said the approval of the funding bills will ensure that critical priorities will be implemented in 2020. According to Trump, pressing matters that need immediate action include military efforts, health programs, border security, criminal justice reform and defending life, MeriTalk reported. The approved bills offer benefits to federal workers and information technology-related provisions such as paid family leave, increased agency budgets and a 3.1 percent salary increase for civilian and military personnel. The signing of the bills will also promote stable government operations with government shutdown concerns laid to rest until September 2020.
