Tyto Athene Unit Wins $168M US Army Contract for Overseas Network Modernization

Systems integrator Tyto Athene announced that its Tyto Government Solutions subsidiary has secured a five-year, $168 million contract to assist the U.S. Army’s network infrastructure modernization in Europe, Israel and the Horn of Africa. Under the single-award contract, Tyto’s tasks include improving the operational efficiencies and widening data access of Army soldiers, commands and partner organizations in the three areas.

The contract was awarded under the ITES-3S indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract vehicle supporting the Army’s Europe Infrastructure Modernization Capabilities Set, Tyto Athene said.

Peter O’Donoghue, Tyto’s chief technology officer and a 4×24 member, underscored that decades of support to the Army’s modernization both in the United States and overseas provides the company with the understanding of unified communications as a key communications and data exchange enabler.

O’Donoghue also assured that Tyto has the capability to simultaneously manage and execute several projects, with its team continuously providing solutions to help the Army achieve mission-critical objectives.

Dennis Kelly, Tyto CEO, said strengths from previous experience provide the company with “a unique perspective” in providing the Army’s needs.
