Unanimous AI Secures AFWERX Swarm AI Contract to Improve Military Deployment

AFWERX has awarded Unanimous AI a $1.25 million Small Business Technology Transfer Phase II contract to support the Department of the Air Force’s creation of high-performing military teams using the company’s Swarm AI technology under a project called Team Insight.

Unanimous AI offers the Swarm platform, which can be accessed using any standard web browser, to optimize decision-making using artificial intelligence and crowdsourcing opinions online. 

Fortune 500 companies worldwide are currently using the platform to provide their business teams and market researchers with AI-generated knowledge for more accurate forecasting, improved planning and refined scheduling, marketing intelligence and competitive analysis, Unanimous AI said.

A study conducted with the Stanford University School of Medicine found that the Unanimous AI system more accurately diagnosed pneumonia than a team of radiologists. The system also correctly predicted the 2016 Kentucky Derby results.

The company’s Team Insight work under the STTR contract aims to expand the use of the technology for a more efficient fielding and deployment of military teams.

Unanimous AI will work with California Polytechnic State University on the project.
