Mattermost Launches New AI, Large Language Model-Based Solutions

Online chat service provider Mattermost has introduced new solutions designed to support workloads using artificial intelligence and large language models.

The solutions are built on the Mattermost OpenOps AI platform and are connected with Microsoft Azure AI, Microsoft Teams and other core Microsoft services. The offerings also offer a customizable and interoperable collaboration experience deployed on the cloud and air-gapped networks.

The products can be used to support chat operations, out-of-band communications, incident response and DevSecOps for the defense and government sectors. They were developed in partnership with Microsoft and Mobuis Logic, Mattermost said Tuesday.

The company’s product introduction comes amid the U.S. government’s developments involving AI, signaling agencies’ willingness to adopt the technology.

Earlier in October, the U.S. government compiled over 700 AI use cases from various federal agencies. The departments of Energy and Health and Human Services reported the most AI use cases with over 150 each while other agencies submitted less than 50 use cases.

Policy-wise, the Biden administration announced in August that it would speed up the creation of an executive order to guide federal agencies on responsible AI usage.
