White House to Further Improve US Cyber Posture With Second NCSIP

The Biden-Harris administration has released the second version of the National Cybersecurity Strategy Implementation Plan, an update to the federal government’s efforts to improve the national cyber posture.

Among the new objectives included in NCSIP Version 2 are strengthening the cyber resilience of the health care sector and advancing the collaboration between federal, state, local, tribal and territorial law enforcement agencies.

Released in July 2023, the initial NCSIP gave the government 27 strategic objectives, including mandating the Joint Ransomware Task Force to continue its efforts to address ransomware and other cyber crimes, WhiteHouse .gov reported.

President Joe Biden has been urging the public and private sectors to help his administration’s initiative to improve the United States’ cybersecurity posture amid growing threats from foreign government-backed attacks.

Cybeats Technologies CEO Yoav Raiter said that the NCSIP validates the significant role of software bill of materials in protecting national security and the U.S. critical infrastructure sector from cyberattacks.
