Woolpert to Provide Geospatial IT System Support to US Air Force Under New Contract
The Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center has awarded a 12-month contract to Woolpert for the support and management of geospatial IT systems in Air Force Materiel Command installations.
Woolpert added that the contract will ensure the delivery of location intelligence operations throughout AFMC. Woolpert will support the system’s planning and ensure its compliance with cybersecurity requirements. The service contract also covers AFMC geospatial capability development, implementation and modernization, Woolpert said.
Woolpert’s previous contracts with the U.S. Air Force include consulting services for the service’s Geospatial Information and Services Program.
In November 2021, the company landed a spot in a five-year, $49 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Coastal Geospatial Services.
The contract’s deliverables include thematic mapping, high-resolution topographic and bathymetric product generation and photogrammetric mapping.
According to Woolpert Vice President Matt Johnson, the company’s geospatial team has provided IT support on government contracts for more than 20 years. The company, he added, “made significant investments in the technologies required to satisfy combat support location intelligence requirements for the armed services.”
