Vice President of Government & Funders

Sgt. Maj. (Ret.) Daniel “D.J.” Gile is the Vice President of Government & Funders at Digital Science and is focused on building partnerships with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community. D.J. joined Digital Science in September after a 24-year Army career in intelligence and special operations. He was initially recruited in 1998 and trained as a Korean linguist at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. After an assignment at the National Security Agency, he was assessed and selected into a special operations unit where he deployed seven times in support of operations in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. When not overseas, D.J. focused on the research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E) of innovative intelligence collection and processing capabilities. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, two Bronze Stars, and an Air Medal for his contributions to the DoD, the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, and the Military Intelligence Corps. In between deployments, D.J. earned a Bachelor of Science with a focus in East Asian studies from Excelsior University and graduated from the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth Next Step Program. He resides near Annapolis with his wife, Maryland State Senator Dawn Gile, and their three daughters.
