Fred Taylor is Viasat Government Systems - Vice President, Space and Cyber Applications. In this role he serves as the space customer account executive responsible for producing innovative and resilient space solutions and capabilities to enable assured US Government and Department of Defense operations. Viasat is a market leader in high-speed internet services and a world leader in satellite payloads, ground infrastructure, tactical networking, security, data links and related cyber technologies. Viasat’s annual revenue is ~$2.3B, employing more than 5,900 people around the world who are passionate about connecting everyone and everything to serve the warfighter and help bridge the digital divide. Prior to joining Viasat, Fred served in a variety of operations, command, and staff positions within the US Air Force, the National Reconnaissance Office, Missile Defense Agency, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense during his 26-year military career. He has wide-ranging experience in space and cyberspace operations, acquisition program management, policy development, and political-military affairs. Fred also deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as the chief of operational synchronization and targeting at the International Security Assistance Force Joint Command. Fred culminated his Air Force career as the Deputy Director of the Joint Space Operations Center and National Reconnaissance Office Senior Liaison charged with advancing National Security Space defense and collaboration by providing space domain awareness and executing command and control of Department of Defense space forces in support of citizens, the intelligence community, and military warfighters around the globe. Fred graduated from the US Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He also earned a Master of Business Administration (International Business) from National University, CA; Master of Arts in Organizational Management from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C.; and a Master of Arts in Military Operational Art from Air University, AL. In addition, Fred was a National Security Fellow at the Harvard J.F.K School of Government where he completed coursework, lectured on space operations, and researched & published material on cyberspace superiority.
