Edward Coney is a principal audit lead of CACI International Inc, an international provider of expertise and technology serving enterprise and mission defense, intelligence, and federal civilian government customers.
Coney leads audit advisory for CACI’s work with the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI). Comey provides audit and compliance activities for the DAI project management office, including the DAI’s annual SSAE-18 audit, FFMIA compliance, DLA A-123/SOA testing, and related activities. Coney has worked at CACI since 2013. He has held various roles and responsibilities of increasing authority, each focused on audit and compliance work and services for the DAI. Coney has managed the DAI’s audit response for seven consecutive unmodified SSAE-18 audit opinions. He has also identified federal financial management system requirement gaps, helping the DAI increase its FFMIA compliance from 88% to 98%.
Coney has 25 years of federal financial management and internal controls experience, having worked with the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense. Coney received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from George Mason University and his MBA in finance from the University of Notre Dame. He is also a Certified Defense Financial Manager.
