Parsons Secures $55M SSC Contract for Ground Segment Work on Missile Tracking Constellation

The Space Systems Command has awarded Parsons Corp. a six-year, $55 million contract for work on the Missile Track Custody Epoch 1 Program, which would provide ground segment capabilities for an upcoming medium Earth orbit satellite constellation meant to provide missile warning and tracking capabilities. Work under the Epoch 1 Program includes the establishment of the MEO Space Operations Center in Colorado, which will provide command and control, mission management, sensor mission data processing, ground resource management and data product distribution. The work also covers the incorporation and testing of ground and support tools that will be used to launch and operate the constellation’s spacecraft, Parsons said.

Paul Decker, president of Parsons’ Defense and Intelligence sector and a 4×24 member, said his company will work to ensure that the ground segment capabilities are ready by the time launch rehearsals and the actual spacecraft launches are to be carried out.
