Lockheed Martin Secures Contract for LCS Battleship Sustainment
Lockheed Martin has scored a $98.8M contract for the sustainment of the Littoral Combat Ship Component-Based Total Ship System 21st Century and other related system elements.
Under the cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price and cost contract, Lockheed shall provide maintenance and evolution of the LCD COMBATSS-21.
A Lockheed-led team designed the Freedom-variant LCS with a steel monohull design at Fincantieri Marinette Marine Corporation's shipyard in Marinette, Wisconsin, Navy Recognition reported.
The Independence-variant LCS was designed by a team led by General Dynamics.
Under the new contract, Lockheed Martin's work includes development, integration, a test of baseline upgrades, installation and checkout, developing training and logistic products, providing field technical support for combat systems, and providing hardware engineering, among others.
